We are Ocean’s Edge School based out of Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We are a 10-month, full time program designed from the ground up with the specific purpose of providing training and education for worship musicians and leaders. Ocean’s Edge School provides an environment which combines personal mentoring and discipleship with music, technology and leadership training in an approach that will equip students for a lifetime of ministry.

So I have a couple of questions about your school.
Is it more of a college or program? It says its just for 10 months. How old would you have to be to attend? How many students acually do attend your school? Are there any scholorships availiable?
I’m very interested in this and would like to learn more, since I do want to be a worship leader.

Thanks for the comment. We’re a program for college age students. We’re not an accredited institution. You have to be a high school to graduate to attend. Most students are 18-25 years old. Right now, our class sizes have been 40-50 students. We do offer some limited scholarships but since we’re not accredited, we don’t qualify for student loans of FAFSA. We do help students in the raising funds process and will match donations from student’s home churches up to $1000. Where are you from, what do you play? Thanks so much for your interest in Ocean’s Edge School. We’re a ten-month full time program that runs September to June. We are based out of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. We are a non-denominational church but our students come from many backgrounds. Our age requirement is that you be a high school graduate. Students are typically 18-25 years old. For this next fall, we offer two payment options depending on how many instruments you choose to take lessons on. If you choose one lesson, the tuition cost is $9,000, two lessons is $10,500. Where are you from? What do you play? Are you interested in applying for the fall?
Hi! I am actually graduationg high school this year, but am extremely interested in being a leader of a church, whether it be a pasture or worship. I love worshiping with a great passion.
What exactly would your school have to offer in regards to people who already have experience with an instrument? Is your program like an internship? What would advise someone to do if they are very good with putting the message out there, but has a little trouble? Would your program help with this?

Thanks so much for contacting us. Congrats on your upcoming graduation. Our program is very intensive musically. There is a 90 minute a day practice requirement on your primary instrument. Students are scheduled all over so while we’re not an “internship” you are gaining a lot of experience and practically doing what you’re learning about. Our curriculum is all Bible, Music, and Leadership classes. A ton of the worship leader and leadership curriculum is focused on accuratly getting your message across and you’re constantly being challenged in this and having to do it. What do you play? Students are leading worship while in school and gain a lot of practical experience. Our leadership classes focus on public speaking and conveying a clear message. Do you speak anywhere currently?

Scholarships are fairly limited and are typically granted in August. Students must submit an application, a $30 application fee, most recent transcripts, three references and two essays. Once your whole application is received, we will schedule you for an audition or ask you to submit a video audition via youtube, vimeo, or dvd. What do you do in Asia? How did you hear about us?
Hi. I’m from Texas, but serve in Beijing. I’m interested in improving my limited skills and knowledge of music/music theory. I also would like to improve greatly in the area of guitar. I have already led worship for large congregations before, so I do have a heart for worship, but lately, I have had more of an interest to explore creating new music and possibly in the future to start or be part of a band or music group.
I would like to know how much it costs to join your 10 month program. Any other information about your schoool and program will be appreciated.=)
Hi Daniel. Wow. From Texas but serve in Beijing. I’d like to hear more about that. That’s great you have experience leading. Are you a worship leader currently in Beijing? Sounds like this could be the perfect place for you. It’s a very intensive 10-month program. Students pick a track and have to decide on a worship leading track or on an artist development track. Which do you think you would want to study? We are starting our year 10-11 school year on Saturday so we haven’t finalized the tuition costs for next year but it will be close to $9000-$10,000. Thanks so much for your interest in Ocean’s Edge School! That’s great you know this is what you want to do so early on. What do you play? To answer your questions, there is boarding available. We have several fully furnished apartments right around the corner from campus. It is not required for new students to stay in our student housing but almost all of our non-local students do. Rent is $400 a month. This includes all utilities and wireless internet. We do offer some scholarships. They are only granted to accepted students and are based on need in merit. We are an not an accredited institution so we don’t qualify for student loans or FAFSA. I would love to send out an info packet with some of our recent cd’s and info. Thanks so much for your interest in Ocean’s Edge School. Our classes run Tuesday through Saturday for first year students typically starting around 9 and concluding at 3:00. Some days are longer depending on your private lesson and rehearsal schedule. The cost is $9-10,000 depending on how many private lessons you choose to take. We run from September to June. Because i know i am called to go into full time music ministry in leading worship weather for a youth or regular church or concert.
